Reports Link FlyDubai Co-Pilot to Radical Social Media Posts and Al-Qaeda Imagery
What happened
Media reports citing a CNN investigation reveal that FlyDubai co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami previously posted Al-Qaeda imagery, statements, and photos of Israeli planes on social media accounts.
How coverage differs
Outlets vary in their framing and terminology regarding the pilot: Newsru refers to him directly as a 'terrorist pilot,' Haaretz describes him as a 'suspect' while highlighting specific post details and timing, and Cursorinfo emphasizes his long-standing history of radicalization and questions how he remained employed in civil aviation.
